The Tri County Medical Society Alliance

.We are physicians and physician spouses/partners who understand the importance of supporting the family of medicine.  OUr purpose is to be educational and charitable as we work to build a healthier Grand Traverse area.

Together through the Alliance, we:

  • Annually raise $5,000+ for charitable endeavors within our community
  • Host multiple events for physicians and their families
  • Offer a newsletter highlighting Alliance activities, events and resources
  • Have mentors available to help you get more familiar with our area and/or the Alliance
  • To join or for more information please email us at alliance@tricountymedicalsociety.com

Our History

The Alliance

  • Started in 1939 as the Women's Auxiliary to the Grand Traverse, Leelanau and Benzie Counties Medical Society
  • Has given out scholarships to those looking for careers in medicine since 1965.  Our scholarship fund is now The Osterlin/Ferguson fund, housed within the NMC Foundation
  • Began the GEMS babysitting class that ran each spring for more than 25 years
  • Teamed up with Kiwanis to start the first bike helmet safety program in our area
  • Helped furnish a room at Munson Manor Hospitality House

our latest project...

Immunizations!

The Alliance is proud of our recent endeavors to help educate our community on the importance and necessity of properly vaccinating through our campaign of 'deciphering facts and myths about childhood immunizations'.  Our efforts have included a live community forum (video will be coming soon) and the creation of a booklet that is now being distributed by our local health care professionals, child care givers and the childbirth services at Munson Medical Center.
